Save on Energy est le programme phare d'efficacité énergétique de l'Ontario, administré par l'Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), un organisme provincial indépendant soutenu par le gouvernement de l'Ontario. Ce programme constitue l'une des ressources les plus rentables pour répondre aux besoins énergétiques de la province, avec un coût de seulement trois cents par kilowatt-heure.
Programmes de financement offerts
Le programme Home Renovation Savings offre des rabais substantiels pour les améliorations écoénergétiques : 600 $ pour l'évaluation énergétique résidentielle, jusqu'à 7 700 $ pour l'isolation, jusqu'à 12 000 $ pour les thermopompes géothermiques, 10 000 $ pour les panneaux solaires et le stockage par batterie, et 200 $ pour les appareils électroménagers certifiés ENERGY STAR. Le programme XLerate soutient les entreprises industrielles et commerciales de grande taille pour des projets d'efficacité énergétique à grande échelle. Les communautés des Premières Nations peuvent bénéficier du Community Building Retrofit Program avec jusqu'à 330 000 $ de financement.

Depuis 2011, Save on Energy a soutenu plus de 400 000 maisons et entreprises dans tous les secteurs de l'Ontario, économisant près de 19 TWh d'électricité, soit l'équivalent de la consommation d'une ville de la taille d'Ottawa pendant plus de deux ans.
