CoolSaver Program

• The applicant must be at least 18 years old.
• The applicant must be a resident of an eligible area in Ottawa, York Region, or Toronto’s Richview South area (qualifying postal codes apply).
• The applicant must be a customer of Toronto Hydro, Hydro Ottawa, Hydro One, or Alectra.
• The applicant must be a homeowner or tenant of an eligible single-family home (tenants require the homeowner’s signed consent).
• The applicant must register and enter into a Participation Agreement, and sign a Work Order no later than October 1, 2025, with eligible upgrades completed no later than December 31, 2025.

Who is not eligible

• Businesses/commercial organizations (this program is for homeowners and tenants; businesses should refer to the Commercial CoolSaver program).
• Contractors that are not qualified CoolSaver contractors (only CoolSaver-qualified contractors can install/service eligible equipment under the program).

Eligible expenses

• Central air conditioner (CAC) or heat pump tune-up service (assessment, cleaning and recommended adjustments) provided by an approved contractor.
• Cleaning or replacement of eligible air filters as part of the tune-up service.
• Refrigerant adjustment service for a central air conditioner (instant discount applied when recommended and accepted).
• Replacement and installation of a qualifying high-efficiency central air conditioner (instant discount).

• Ottawa, Ontario (eligible postal codes: K1A, K1B, K1C, K1E, K1G, K1H, K1J, K1K, K1L, K1M, K1N, K1P, K1R, K1S, K1T, K1V, K1W, K1X, K1Y, K1Z, K2A, K2B, K2C, K2E, K2G, K2H, K2J, K2K, K2L, K2M, K2P, K2R, K2S, K2T, K2V, K2W, K4A, K4B, K4M, K4P).
• York Region, Ontario (eligible postal codes: L3L, L3P, L3R, L3S, L3T, L4B, L4C, L4E, L4G, L4H, L4J, L4K, L4L, L4S, L6A, L6B, L6C, L6E, L6G, L7B).
• Toronto, Ontario — Richview South area (central and west Toronto and parts of southern Etobicoke) (eligible postal codes: M5A, M5C, M5E, M5G, M5H, M5J, M5K, M5L, M5M, M5N, M5P, M5S, M5T, M5V, M6A, M6B, M6C, M6E, M6G, M6H, M6J, M6K, M6L, M6M, M6N, M6P, M6R, M6S, M8V, M8W, M8X, M8Y, M8Z, M9A, M9B, M9C).

• Participation requires entering into a Participation Agreement and signing a Work Order no later than October 1, 2025.
• Eligible upgrades must be implemented no later than December 31, 2025.
• The tune-up service is not a diagnostic or repair; participants receive an assessment report after the service.
• Old equipment removed during eligible upgrades is disposed of at a municipal decommissioning facility; any additional disposal costs are the participant’s responsibility and should be shown on the invoice.
