Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Agricultural operations
  • Agricultural cooperatives using farm equipment (CUMA), for certain subcomponents
  • Agri-processing businesses, for agricultural waste management projects under subcomponent 1.2

Eligible expenses

  • Purchase or modification of equipment for weed control, fertilizer application, soil seeding, and water management
  • Installation of agricultural structures and water storage or irrigation equipment
  • Costs related to biodiversity works such as riparian buffer zones and hedgerows
  • Costs related to waste management systems, treatment, storage, and related technical work
  • Expenses for approved field trials and organic conversion support, when applicable

Selection criteria

  • Alignment with the Sustainable Agriculture Plan.
  • Targeted eligible practices or projects.
  • Compliance with the specific requirements of the sub-component.
  • Presence of an eligible bonus, where applicable.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed after submission and only complete files are processed.
  • If a decision is issued, the applicant may request a review within 30 days.

Additional information

  • Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until credits are exhausted or the next Prime-Vert 2026-2029 program is launched, whichever comes first.
  • If an application is approved, eligible expenses carried out from April 1, 2026 may be taken into account.
  • Applications must be sent by email to Prime-Vert@mapaq.gouv.qc.ca.
  • Only complete applications that include all mandatory documents will be processed.
