The Roulez vert program offers financial assistance for the purchase of new electric vehicles in Québec. Below are the eligibility criteria for this grant:
  • The vehicle must be included on the list of eligible new vehicles.
  • The vehicle must be registered for the first time in Québec.
  • The vehicle must not have been previously registered outside Québec.
  • The vehicle must be purchased or leased for 12 months or more in Canada.
  • The vehicle's manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) must be less than $65,000.
  • The vehicle's battery must have a capacity of at least 8 kilowatt-hours (kWh).
  • For a plug-in hybrid vehicle, the battery must have a capacity of at least 15 kWh to obtain a $5,000 rebate or between 8 kWh and 15 kWh to obtain a $2,500 rebate.
  • The vehicle must be registered in Québec for a minimum period of 12 months for personal use, or 36 months for fleet vehicles (three or more purchased in the fiscal year).
  • The leasing period for long-term leases must be a minimum of 12 months.
  • The applicant must reside in Québec or be a business/organization/municipality registered in Québec and operate an establishment in Québec.
  • Demonstrator vehicles are eligible if they have less than 10,000 km (for all-electric, plug-in hybrid, and hydrogen-powered vehicles), 2,000 km (for electric motorcycles), or 1,000 km (for electric scooters).
  • The vehicle must not have been converted to electric motorization.
  • The vehicle must not be acquired with the aim of reselling or leasing it long-term at the time of the transaction.
  • The vehicle must not have been registered prior to January 1, 2020.
