Eligible expenses
- The acquisition and transportation costs of an eligible charging station.
- The costs of accessories related to the use of the charging station or connectors, such as the cable management system and the pedestal.
- The labor and material costs required for installation work for the charging station, its connection, its electrical supply infrastructure, and its commissioning.
- The acquisition costs of an energy management system for charging electric vehicles, as well as professional service fees for detailed plans and specifications.
- The costs of repairing the damaged surface, means of protecting the charging station, and work to oversize the electrical supply and distribution infrastructure.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- The cost of spare parts, maintenance fees and temporary connection fees.
- Accessories not directly related to the installation of the charging station or the use of the charging ports, weather protection and costs related to operating the charging station, including network management, maintenance, communications and extended warranties.
- Parking lot or sidewalk layout costs, except for restoring damaged sections, as well as aesthetic covering for a new building or electrical room.
- Costs related to generators, batteries, solar panels and other energy conversion or storage equipment, as well as taxes and administrative fees borne by the applicant.
- Expenses incurred during the suspension of the Roulez vert program from 1st February to 31 March 2025 are not eligible for Level 2.

How to apply
- Prepare the supporting documents, including invoices and proof of payment for eligible expenses, and make sure the charging stations are installed when the application is submitted.
- Create your organization’s user account, activate it, and complete the user profile in full.
- Log in to the online services, choose the Roulez vert and Écorecharge programs, then create an application by selecting the Charging Station option.
- Enter all required information in the Installation Address and Charging Station tabs, then add all installed charging stations covered by the application.
- Attach an electronic version of all required supporting documents, save the application, then submit it.
Processing and Agreement
- Applications are reviewed by the program administrator.
- If corrections or additional information are needed, applicants are notified by email.
- Once approved, the applicant is informed by email.
- Payment is issued by cheque by mail, usually within 4 to 6 weeks.
- The financial aid is paid in a single instalment.

Here are additional relevant details for this grant:
- The program Roulez vert will be temporarily suspended between February 1, 2025, and March 31, 2025, during which no expenses will be eligible for financial aid.
- All eligible expenses must be fully paid at the time of submitting the financial aid application, except for ongoing lease payments for charging stations.
- Costs associated with over-sizing electrical infrastructure for future needs are considered eligible expenses if incurred after April 18, 2023.
- For eligible turnkey charging services, the service provider must submit the application for financial aid on behalf of the client.
- As of April 2019, offering free charging to employees is not mandatory but is encouraged.
- The charging stations must remain operational for at least three years after installation, following financial aid approval.
