Eligibility for this grant is determined by specific criteria related to the nature and status of the company.
  • The company must be a for-profit entity legally constituted, registered with the Registraire des entreprises du Québec, and incorporated under a law of the Government of Quebec or Canada.
  • The company must be a member of a designated management organization (OGD) related to the extended producer responsibility (REP) according to Quebec's recovery and valorization regulation on products by companies.
  • The company must have at least one commercial establishment or branch located in Quebec.
  • The company must carry out food processing in Quebec for products whose packaging is developed in Quebec.
  • The company must primarily market its products within the province of Quebec.

Eligible applicants for this grant include: - Food processing companies;- Companies that utilize contractors or subcontractors for food processing, including private label companies;- Companies with a central kitchen. These entities must also meet specific conditions such as being a for-profit business legally established, registered with the Quebec Enterprise Registrar, incorporated under Quebec or Canadian law, being a member of a designated management organization related to the extended producer responsibility, having at least one commercial establishment or branch in Quebec, conduct food processing in Quebec, and primarily market their products within the province.

  • Nonprofit organizations;
  • Start-up businesses that have not marketed any product at the time of application;
  • Sole proprietorships, that is, businesses owned by a single individual who is often referred to as a self-employed or independent worker;
  • Professional associations;
  • Trade unions;
  • Public and private foundations as defined by the Income Tax Act of Canada;
  • Trusts;
  • Private institutions of primary, secondary, and post-secondary education;
  • Any business majority-owned by a municipal entity or a state-owned corporation (majority shareholder);
  • Any business under the protection of the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act or the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act;
  • Any business listed on the Register of Businesses Not Eligible for Public Contracts at the following link: https://www.amp.quebec//rena/;
  • Any business that, in the two years prior to the request for financial aid, has failed to meet its obligations after being duly served a notice by the Minister in connection with the granting of previous financial aid;
  • Any business involved in the processing of the following products: Animal feed, nutraceuticals, natural health products as defined by the Natural Health Products Regulations (SOR/2003-196). Products identified by a Drug Identification Number (DIN) are not considered, within this program, as food, just as products containing cannabis and energy drinks are not.

  • Developing an action plan or implementation plan for the recommended new packaging concept.

  • Contact an external expert to assist with the application, if needed, unless you have a qualified internal specialist.
  • Review the billing guide related to the grant application.
  • Step 2: Prepare Necessary Documents
  • If applicable, provide the "Réalisation d’une soumission" document to your external expert to ensure the quote is complete.
  • Gather the quotation provided by the expert for inclusion in the application.
  • Step 3: Additional Documentation for Newer Enterprises
  • Provide a business plan including a proforma budget for companies operating for less than three years.
  • Include financial statements from the latest year for companies operating for more than a year.
  • Step 4: Include Complementary Funding Information
  • Attach confirmation letters for any additional funding sources, specifying if they are from private or public origins.
  • Step 5: Complete and Submit Application Form
  • Fill out the financial aid application form, ensuring all required documents are included as per Guide du demandeur section 5.10.
  • Save a partially completed form for up to 28 days if needed, using the emailed link.
  • Submit the completed form to the FAQDD by clicking "Envoyer le formulaire."
