Overview

The Industry Expansion Program provides customized financial assistance (no fixed maximum published) to private, for‑profit companies establishing or expanding operations in Manitoba, primarily to support skills training for employees. Eligible activities include training for new and existing staff, training delivered internally or by external providers, development or purchase of curriculum and learning materials, and lease or purchase of training‑related equipment and other eligible training delivery costs.

  • Launching new business operations or facilities in Manitoba that require structured employee training.
  • Expanding existing operations in Manitoba that involve scaling up the workforce and upgrading employee skills.
  • Implementing company-wide training initiatives to upskill both newly hired staff and current employees for growth-related roles.
  • Developing and rolling out tailored training programs to support the adoption of new processes, technologies or equipment within Manitoba operations.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a private, for-profit company.
  • The applicant must have a Canadian Business Number.
  • The company must be licensed to carry on business in Manitoba.
  • The project must involve locating new operations in Manitoba or expanding existing operations in Manitoba.
  • The project must create net new positions that can be retained for at least 2,080 hours of full-time employment during the agreement period.
