TFW Program – Agriculture: Updated advertising requirements for low-wage positions
Employers applying for low-wage positions under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program must now advertise for at least 8 consecutive weeks within 3 months before submitting their Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) application. This represents a doubling of the previous 4-week advertising requirement and is a substantive change to pre-application eligibility conditions. The program pages have been restructured to consolidate recent changes, including new requirements related to youth recruitment targeting for low-wage positions. Additional clarifications have been added to guide third-party representatives on registration processes. These changes affect the steps applicants must follow and the eligibility criteria they must satisfy before applying. The Canada Post disruption notice has been updated to reflect resumed operations following the resolution of labour disputes.
