Eligibility
Who is eligible?
This grant is specifically open to Alberta-based for-profit small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) looking to commercialize a viable technology. Eligibility criteria include being incorporated in Alberta or having a significant operations presence in the province, and having fewer than 500 employees and less than $50 million in annual gross revenue. It also requires the participation and financial commitment of a Strategic Partner who must not have conflicts of interest or bad debts with Alberta Innovates.Who is not eligible
This grant excludes certain companies and industries due to their status or main activity. The restrictions aim to ensure that funds are directed toward entities capable of demonstrating potential growth and contribution to Alberta's economy.

- Entities not incorporated in Alberta or lacking an extra-provincial registration in Alberta.
- Companies exceeding 500 full-time employees or $50,000,000 in annual gross revenue.
- Businesses without a significant operational presence or Alberta footprint.
- Companies prohibited from funding due to past financial mismanagement or poor standing with Alberta Innovates or its subsidiaries, InnoTech Alberta and C-FER Technologies.
