- Eligible project costs incurred after the Investment Agreement is signed.

- Costs incurred before the Investment Agreement is signed.
- Costs above market prices.
- Payments to non-arm’s-length entities.
- Payments to U.S.-based vendors without prior written consent.

Processing and Agreement
- Applications are reviewed by Alberta Innovates staff and external expert reviewers.
- Applications are assessed for fit with the program objectives and intended outcomes.
- Approved applicants must sign a standard Investment Agreement before funding is released.
- Funding is advanced on a milestone completion basis, subject to reporting and progress review.
- Declined applicants may re-apply once to address deficiencies.

- Applicants must first connect with a Technology Development Advisor before applying.
- Funding is paid directly to the applicant under an Investment Agreement.
