Eligibility
Eligibility for this grant is determined by specific requirements related to the applicant's Indigenous ownership and operational focus.
- The applicant must be an Indigenous community or governing body, such as a First Nation (band or council under the Indian Act), tribal council, or Inuit organization.
- An applicant can also be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or organization that clearly demonstrates ownership and controlling interests by Indigenous groups.
Who is eligible?
An Indigenous community or governing body, which includes First Nations (band or council under the Indian Act), tribal councils, and Inuit organizations, as well as other forms of government or representative organizations, can apply. Additionally, for-profit or not-for-profit businesses or organizations that can clearly demonstrate ownership and controlling interests by Indigenous groups are eligible to apply. The term "Indigenous" encompasses Inuit, Métis, First Nations, or any combination of these groups.Who is not eligible
There are specific types of companies that are not eligible for this grant. Only Indigenous-led organizations or groups are eligible to apply. Non-Indigenous companies or organizations are not eligible for this funding opportunity.
