Eligible expenses

  • Salaries and regular benefits for staff involved in project coordination, supervision, and implementation.
  • Fees for specialists and external consultants.
  • Acquisition of materials, tools, and light equipment required for the project.
  • Rental costs for machinery or equipment.
  • Transport and installation expenses for project equipment.
  • Rental or depreciation costs for IT equipment used during the project (up to 33% of equipment value per year for up to three years).
  • Administrative and office expenses (including office space, supplies, photocopying, telephony, postage, accounting), up to 10% of total eligible expenses.

Eligible geographic areas

  • All private and public territories within Quebec where the wildlife habitat value is clearly demonstrated.
  • For additional funding under the Nordic Wildlife Fund: Northern Quebec, north of the 49th parallel, the St. Lawrence River and the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

  • Expertise and capacity of the applicant to implement and monitor the project.
  • Expected results for wildlife habitats and biodiversity.
  • Priority of the proposed activity within the program's focus areas.

How to apply

  • Step 1: Consult Information Documents
    • Read the program’s information document to understand requirements and guidelines.
    • Ensure your project aligns with the program’s objectives and priority activities.
  • Step 2: Prepare Application Documentation
    • Complete the official application form for financial assistance.
    • Gather all required supporting documents (e.g., organizational resolution authorizing the signatory, location map or aerial photo of project site, letters of support, project leader’s experience/CV, relevant planning documents, summary of past results if the project is a continuation, and the sustainable development annex).
    • For habitat improvement projects: include a detailed description of planned work, site details, protocols, and any supporting visual materials.
    • For habitat protection projects: provide the general location of target properties/owners and details on follow-up methods.
    • For knowledge transfer projects: specify target audiences and summarize the content of training or tools to be produced.
    • For results evaluation or other initiatives: confirm project eligibility with a Foundation program manager and specify performance indicators if applicable.
  • Step 3: Submit the Application
    • Send the completed application form and all attachments by email in original format to the Fondation de la faune du Québec at projets@fondationdelafaune.qc.ca.
    • Ensure all mandatory documents are included, as missing documents may result in rejection.
  • Step 4: Application Deadline
    • Submit your complete application by either March 15 or October 1, depending on the current application period.
