Technoclimat provides financial assistance for the demonstration of innovative, pre-commercial technologies or the testing of technologies not yet available in Quebec, with a focus on energy and greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction projects. The program supports eligible activities such as technology development, engineering, manufacturing, and large-scale demonstration in the fields of energy innovation and bioenergy production; maximum funding details should be confirmed directly with the program documentation.
grant_single_labels|terms_and_conditions
- Financial assistance covers up to 50% of eligible project expenses, with a maximum of $3,000,000 per project under the regular stream.
- The total combined aid from federal and provincial governments, energy distributors, and the Technoclimat program cannot exceed 75% of total eligible project expenses.
- For projects in the specific stream for industries subject to SPEDE, funding may reach up to 50% of eligible expenses, with a maximum of $10,000,000 per project (only for projects costing over $10,000,000).
- For projects focused on pre-commercial technological innovation in low-carbon energy production (NMT 4-7), assistance may be up to 50% of eligible expenses, capped at $10,000,000; for first commercial production units using proven technologies (NMT 8-9), up to 25% of eligible expenses with a maximum of $18,000,000 (projects must meet minimum and maximum investment thresholds).
