Resilient Futures provides up to $1,000,000 annually to expand free financial empowerment services for Canadians with low to moderate incomes. Funding supports hub coordination, expanded community services, and tailored outreach for priority populations.

  • Offering one-on-one financial coaching or counselling and financial education.
  • For hub organizations: coordinating and strengthening the local ecosystem of financial empowerment supports for other service organizations.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be an eligible organization seeking to expand free financial empowerment services for Canadians with low to moderate incomes.
  • The proposed project must deliver or expand core financial empowerment services (e.g., year-round tax filing, benefits access support, one-on-one coaching/counselling, financial education).
  • For the Priority Population Growth Partners stream, the project must focus on at least one priority population: Black Communities, First Nations, Métis and Inuit, and/or those living with disabilities.
  • For the Priority Population Growth Partners stream, the organization must have established expertise serving at least one priority population or a mission/mandate primarily focused on at least one priority community.

Who is eligible?

  • Regional or population-focused hub organizations delivering financial empowerment services.
  • Community organizations delivering financial empowerment services.
  • Registered charities (for Priority Population Growth Partners).
  • Non-profit organizations (directly for Priority Population Growth Partners; and for Hubs/Partners under certain conditions).
  • Partnerships of organizations (for the Hubs stream).

Selection criteria

How to apply

Step 1: Choose a funding stream
  • Identify whether your project fits Financial Empowerment Hubs, Financial Empowerment Partners, or Priority Population Growth Partners.
  • Confirm whether you will apply as a single organization or as a partnership (where applicable).
Step 2: Submit a Letter of Intent
  • Prepare and submit the Letter of Intent by the listed deadline.
Step 3: Prepare a full proposal (if invited)
  • Wait for invitations to the full proposal stage (sent in early June).
  • Develop and submit the full proposal as requested at that stage.

Processing and Agreement

  • Invitations to submit a full proposal are sent in early June.
  • Funding decisions are made in September.
  • Applicants are notified in October.
