Overview
The Peak Rebate Program offers businesses in New Brunswick a financial incentive of $60/kW for average demand reduction achieved during winter peak events, up to a maximum determined by site performance. The program aims to help businesses temporarily reduce electricity use during peak periods through eligible activities such as equipment adjustments and operational changes, supporting grid stability and efficiency.
Financing terms and conditions
- Participants receive a single incentive for the season, calculated as the average kW demand reduction achieved during all peak events, paid at a rate of $60/kW.
- If no peak event notices are issued during the winter period, a Reserve Payment equal to 10% of the average monthly peak demand (calculated between 7:00 - 9:00 AM from December to end of March, excluding weekends and statutory holidays) is provided, paid at a rate of $60/kW, to a maximum of $10,000.
- Payments are issued as a lump sum via direct deposit at the conclusion of the season, based on actual performance.
