Overview
The Plug-In NB Charging Rebates for Business program provides up to 50% of eligible costs, with a maximum of $50,000 per fast charger, to support the installation of electric vehicle charging stations in New Brunswick. Funded by Natural Resources Canada, this initiative aims to expand charging infrastructure through the installation of new charging stations at public places, workplaces, multi-unit residential buildings, and for light-duty fleets.
Financing terms and conditions
- Up to 50% of total eligible expenditures covered by the program.
- Maximum of $5,000 per Level 2 (208/240 V) connector, up to 3 connectors per application.
- Maximum of $15,000 per fast charger (20 kW to 49 kW), limit of 1 per application.
- Maximum of $50,000 per fast charger (50 kW and above), limit of 1 per application.
- Rebates are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and subject to funding availability.

Eligibility
- The applicant must be a business, organization, or community group based in New Brunswick.
- Eligible applicant types include companies, industry associations, research associations, academic institutions, electric or gas utilities, standard organizations, Indigenous and community groups, and all levels of government or their departments/agencies.
- The charging stations must be located in New Brunswick and be a permanent, new installation or an expansion (not a replacement).
- The applicant must have proof of ownership or access to the land where charging infrastructure will be installed.
- Pre-approval and a signed Participation Agreement with NB Power are required prior to starting the project.

- Rental fees or leasing costs related to the infrastructure.
- License fees and permits required for installation.
- Costs associated with Environmental Assessments.
- Taxes (net of any tax rebate to which the recipient is entitled).
