Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Applicants representing another level of government other than an Indigenous government.

Eligible expenses

  • Professional fees, administrative costs, travel expenses including meals, accommodation and incidentals, and honoraria and ceremonial offerings.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Capital expenditures, construction costs, lost income, renovation of buildings, salaries and benefits, and general operations and maintenance costs.
  • Legal representation.

Selection criteria

  • Available funding is distributed among successful applicants based on the merit of their proposals.

How to apply

  • Open the application form for the funding opportunity.
  • Complete the form and follow the instructions in the form and the Participant Funding Program guide.
  • Review, sign and date the form, and keep a copy for your records.
  • Submit the signed application to the CNSC's PFP Administrator by email, fax or mail, as described in the guide.

Processing and Agreement

  • The PFP administrator will notify you within one business day of the receipt of your application and initiate the review and approval process.
  • An independent Funding Review Committee, composed of a panel of external experts, will review your application and recommend whether your funding request should be approved, including the amount and any objectives you will have to meet.
  • The PFP administrator will notify you of the CNSC's final decision within 25 business days of the closing date for the application process.
  • Successful applicants receive a contribution agreement from the CNSC and must sign and return it.
  • Funding payments are issued after recipients meet the contribution agreement objectives, submit a final financial report, and complete a recipient survey.
