Who is eligible?
- Individuals or organizational representatives
- Not-for-profit organizations, if one person in the group assumes individual responsibility for signing the contribution agreement and carrying out all terms of the agreement
- Applicants who can demonstrate a direct, local interest in the project, Indigenous traditional knowledge or community knowledge relevant to the project, potential or established Aboriginal and/or Treaty rights, or value-added information relevant to the CNSC's mission and specific to the project

- Available funding is distributed among successful applicants based on the merit of their proposals.
How to apply
- Consult the PFP funding opportunities page to learn more about the project description and access the project-specific application form.
- Complete the PFP application form using the instructions provided for the project.
- Submit the PFP application form to the CNSC's PFP Administrator by email, fax or mail, after reviewing, signing and dating it, and keep a copy for your records.
Processing and Agreement
- The PFP administrator will notify applicants within one business day of receiving the application and start the review and approval process.
- An independent Funding Review Committee of external experts reviews the application and recommends whether funding should be approved, including the amount and any objectives to be met.
- The CNSC notifies applicants of the final decision within 25 business days of the application closing date.
- Successful applicants receive a contribution agreement from the CNSC.
- Funding payments are issued once recipients have met the objectives in the contribution agreement, submitted the final financial report, and completed the recipient survey.
