Details of the Grant
Are you a caring individual in Ontario looking for a rewarding career in healthcare? The Helping Hands initiative is seeking individuals to help support seniors in long-term care homes with tasks such as setting up mealtimes, assisting with technology, and providing companionship. Employees will work under the direction of Registered Staff, earn competitive wages starting at $17 per hour, and undergo mandatory online training. This short-term opportunity, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, aims to bridge the gap between job seekers and the increasing demand for support in long-term care settings.
Applicants with a minimum grade 10 education and good communication skills can apply, with opportunities available across the province. Successful candidates will be employed by partner hospitals like University Health Network and The Ottawa Hospital, with a focus on essential tasks like distributing food, directing visitors, and ensuring residents' well-being. A negative COVID-19 test and updated immunizations are required, along with a Vulnerable Sector Check.
Join the Helping Hands program today to make a meaningful impact on the lives of seniors in long-term care homes while gaining valuable work experience and contributing to your community's well-being. Your support can make a significant difference during these challenging times for both residents and care facilities.
