Who is eligible?
- Employers licensed to operate in Ontario
- SMEs in the precision metalworking sector whose primary business is focused on design, manufacture, repair, or assembly in the listed areas
- Candidates who are residents of Ontario and eligible to work in Canada
- New Apprentices, High School Graduates, Post-Secondary Graduates, Post-Secondary Co-Op Students, existing employees looking to upskill, and Job Seekers
Eligible expenses
- Wages paid to eligible new hires or existing employees during the placement
Selection criteria
- Priority will be given to members of the Canadian Tooling & Machining Association (CTMA).
- Applications are assessed on a first-come, first-served basis until all funds have been fully allocated.
How to apply
- Employers must identify a candidate before applying.

Processing and Agreement
- Funding is distributed through a Training Placement Agreement signed by the employer, participant, and CTMA.
- Employers must follow or develop a list of Technical Learning Outcomes (TLOs) on an individual basis to track progress during monitoring visits.
- For each Apprentice, submit a copy of a Ministry-approved Registered Training Agreement (RTA) to CTMA.
- Provide access to the participant and trainer for periodic monitoring visits, which may be in-person or virtual, and respond promptly to telephone calls, emails, and questionnaires from CTMA.
- Submit evidence of wages paid, signed by both the employer and the participant, and provide a final evaluation of the trainee’s skills against the identified goals and outcomes.

- The program supports up to 150 experiential work placements.
- Work placements run for 10 to 16 weeks.
- Consecutive placements are allowed if completed by March 20, 2026.
