The TalentEdge Fellowship Program offers opportunities for PhD graduates and post-doctoral fellows to engage in industry-driven research and development projects. These initiatives focus on advancing technologies in the automotive and smart mobility sectors.
  • Research and development in Connected and Autonomous Vehicle (C/AV) technologies.
  • Projects related to the development of Electric Vehicles (EV).

Eligibility criteria of the OVIN — TalentEdge Fellowship program

Eligibility for this grant is determined by specific requirements related to the applicant's profile and project focus.
  • For an Institution-based Fellowship, the industry partner must be a for-profit company with R&D operations in Ontario.
  • For a Company-based Fellowship, the applicant must be a for-profit company with R&D operations in Ontario.
  • The project must be project-based, with clearly defined R&D activities, milestones, and outcomes to be completed within the fellowship duration.

Who is eligible?

Eligible applicants for the TalentEdge Fellowship Program are PhD graduates who received their degree within the last five years, and Ontario-based companies or institutions engaging in relevant R&D projects in the automotive and mobility industry.

  • An OCI Business Development Manager will contact you post submission of the intake form.
  • Discuss the program opportunity and your project's fit with the manager.
  • Receive guidance on the application process and documentation requirements.

Prepare Application Documents
  • Review reference documentation available on the OVIN Resource Document Page, including Program Guidelines, OCI Funding Agreement, and the Full Proposal Questionnaire.
  • Use the Letter of Support Template and adhere to the Data and Information Sharing Protocol (DISP) for submission.
