Who is eligible?

  • Universities, colleges, and polytechnics supporting the electricity industry

Who is not eligible

  • Current international students without a Post-Graduate Work Permit

Eligible expenses

  • Wage costs for the first few months of onboarding.

Selection criteria

  • Applications are funded in the order received.
  • Applicants must meet the program’s eligibility requirements.
  • EHRC may apply additional criteria to support national and equitable representation.

How to apply

  • Step 1: Submit employer application
    • Send the application to EHRC.
  • Step 2: Submit participant eligibility form
    • The participant provides the required eligibility form.
  • Step 3: Wait for review
    • EHRC reviews the submission; processing can take up to 10 business days.
  • Step 4: Sign the contract and create a learning plan
    • For successful placements, the employer, participant, and EHRC sign the contract.
    • The employer and participant then create a learning plan.
  • Step 5: Submit reimbursement claims
    • The employer submits monthly claims for reimbursement.
  • Step 6: Complete final evaluation
    • Employer and participant complete evaluation surveys at the end of the funded placement.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed after submission.
  • Eligibility forms are assessed before approval.
  • Successful placements require a contract signed by the employer, participant, and EHRC.
  • Monthly reimbursement claims are submitted during the placement.
  • Employer and participant complete evaluation surveys at the end.

  • The program is funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Foreign Credential Recognition Program.
