Financing terms and conditions

This grant provides funding through cost-shared, non-repayable contributions to support projects that enhance awareness of zero-emission vehicles and clean fuels. Financial contributions are determined based on the organizational type and project relevance.

  • Funding covers up to 50% of project costs for for-profit organizations.
  • Funding can cover up to 75% of project costs for non-profit organizations, various governmental orders, and Indigenous organizations or businesses.
  • Projects can only officially commence after receiving a Letter of Conditional Approval from NRCan, although earlier expenses are at the proponent's risk and not reimbursable by NRCan.
  • While vehicle purchases are not eligible for reimbursement, they can be included in total project costs, offset by the proponent's own contribution.
  • Disbursement of funds is subject to terms detailed in contribution agreements with successful applicants.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this grant, applicants must meet specific criteria regarding their legal status and organizational structure.

  • The applicant must be an organization or a legal entity validly incorporated or registered in Canada, including not-for-profit and for-profit organizations such as electricity or gas utilities, private sector companies, industry and research associations, standards development organizations, Indigenous and community groups, Canadian academic institutions, or provincial, territorial, regional, or municipal governments or their departments or agencies.
  • International legal entities validly incorporated or registered abroad are also eligible, including for-profit and not-for-profit organizations such as private sector companies, industry and research associations, standards organizations, and academic institutions.
  • Applicants that are softwood lumber companies or those that are vertically integrated with softwood lumber companies are not eligible.
