Eligibility criteria for the Student Work Placement (Co-op) Program:
  • There are no age restrictions for applicants.
  • Funding is focused around the STEAM & Business fields.
  • Placement must align or be of benefit to the student’s Post-Secondary Education.
  • Applicants must be current Canadian post-secondary students.
  • This program is open to students who hold Canadian citizenship, Canadian permanent residency status, or Canadian refugee status.

  • Receive 50% up to $5,000 in funding towards a student's salary.

  • Step 3: Recruitment
    • Students and employers must find their own placements, utilizing resources like the Job Board.
  • Step 4: Get Paid
    • Funding is secured upon confirmation of a match between employer and student, with signed contracts returned within 15 days.
  • Step 5: Receive Funding
    • Eligible employers receive 50% wage coverage up to $5,000 for a student's 6 to 16 week placement with a minimum of 180 hours.
    • Both employer and student should fill out reports during the placement for the employer to receive the wage subsidy.
