Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • A person who lives in a multiple dwelling and owns an electric vehicle; this person may be either the owner or the tenant of the dwelling.
  • A business, municipality, or organization that has acquired an electric vehicle used by an employee who resides in a multiple dwelling.

Who is not eligible

  • Property owners and condominium syndicates applying for shared electrical infrastructure or installation projects under this component.

Eligible expenses

  • The cost of acquiring an eligible charging station, whether purchased or leased, before taxes.
  • For a leased charging station, the acquisition cost is the total of all past and future monthly payments, and the lease must be for at least 36 months.
  • The cost of installing the charging station and the required electrical infrastructure for its operation, in certain cases.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Taxes, delivery fees, charging station accessories, replacement parts, operation fees, maintenance or servicing fees, and extended warranties cannot be included in the acquisition cost.
  • Used charging stations and charging stations used for demonstration purposes.
  • Charging station models that are not on the list of eligible charging stations.
  • Installation costs for triplexes or quadruplexes built after October 1, 2018, or multiple dwellings with five or more units built on or after September 26, 2026.
  • Installation costs for buildings that have received Écorecharge assistance for upgrading their electrical infrastructure.

How to apply

  • Create a user account in the online services if you have never applied for financial assistance for an electric vehicle.
  • Prepare an electronic copy of the required documents in PDF format, or take a photo of each page with your cell phone.
  • Sign in to the online services, select Roulez vert and Écorecharge programs, open the My Applications tab, and click Create an application.
  • Select Recharge, then Residential multiple dwelling, complete the Installation Address and Charging Station tabs, attach the required supporting documents, save the application, and click Submit Application.
  • If you cannot use the online services, complete and sign the PDF form and send it with a copy of all required documents to the program’s address by mail.

Processing and Agreement

  • If supporting documents or additional information are required to process your application, you will be notified by email.
  • You will need to sign in to your file in the online services to make the required corrections.
  • Once your application is approved, you will be notified by email.
  • If you are an individual, you must sign in again to the online services and enter your social insurance number in the My Notices tab before the financial assistance is paid.
  • You will receive your reimbursement by cheque, by mail, within four to six weeks.

  • The program is administered by the Government of Quebec.
  • For multiresidential projects, the main applicant can be a property owner, manager, developer, or condominium syndicate.
  • Applications are generally submitted through the program’s online services.
