Overview
Access up to 40 hours of wages per 12-month period for workers who did not have an existing paid sick leave program as of April 25, 2023, and are sick with illness (or injury not covered by any other act, benefit or program).
Financing terms and conditions
- Rebate covers up to 40 hours of wages per employee or self-employed worker per program year, based on an hourly wage of up to $36.71.
- For self-employed individuals without proof of Gross Self-Employment Income, the maximum daily rate is set at $17.38 per hour.
- Sick leave hours reimbursed must not include overtime as defined by the Yukon Employment Standards Act.
- Unused sick leave hours are not carried over to the next year and are not paid out if unused.

Eligibility
- The applicant must operate a Yukon-based business meeting at least three of the following criteria: have an office with a physical address in the Yukon, be subject to the Yukon Income Tax Act, be registered under the applicable business legislation, and have a valid municipal business licence (if applicable).
- The applicant must have their business name registered and in compliance with Government of Yukon Corporate Affairs.
- The applicant must comply with the Yukon Employment Standards Act.

- Wages paid for up to 40 hours of paid sick leave per employee per program year (not including overtime or additional benefits).
- For self-employed individuals, reimbursement of average daily earnings for up to 40 hours per program year (maximum hourly rates and specific requirements may apply).
