Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Applicants seeking retroactive funding for work already started or completed

Eligible expenses

  • Facade improvements and substantial physical improvements to existing agricultural buildings and facilities
  • Renovations or additions to barns, storage buildings, agricultural or food processing facilities, and greenhouses
  • On-farm housing for farm workers directly related to farm operations
  • Professional services for architectural, planning, engineering, and site plans or drawings

  • Alignment with Community Improvement Plan objectives

How to apply

  • Step 1: Prepare the application
    • Complete the application form.
    • Gather plans, drawings, and at least two cost estimates.
    • Include any additional supporting documentation required for the project.
  • Step 2: Submit to Norfolk County
    • Send the completed application and supporting documents to Norfolk County before any work begins.
  • Step 3: Review by Norfolk County
    • Norfolk County staff review the application for completeness.
    • Additional documentation may be requested if needed.
  • Step 4: Approval decision
    • Most applications are approved by the Director of Strategic Innovation and Economic Development.
    • Brownfield Tax Increment Grant applications are decided by Council.
  • Step 5: Complete work and claim payment

    • Final inspection is completed before payment is issued.
