Activities funded

  • Organization and delivery of a tourism festival or event in Montérégie
  • Support for a specific development aspect aimed at the growth of a festival or event
  • Tourism festivals or one-off events that attract significant excursionist and tourist attendance and animate the destination

Documents Needed

  • Duly completed and signed application form submitted in Excel format
  • Program or draft program for the upcoming event
  • Most recent event report, if available
  • Detailed marketing and/or communications plan for the event
  • Most recent financial statements of the organization and projected event income-expense statement

Eligibility

  • Be an eligible tourism enterprise, cooperative, non-profit, municipal entity or recognized Indigenous organization, or a grouping of these
  • Be legally constituted under Quebec or Canadian law and carry on business in Quebec
  • Have fulfilled commitments related to any previous subsidy from the program partners
  • For tourism accommodation or nature/adventure businesses, comply with applicable regulations and required certifications
  • Submit a festival or event project that generates significant visitor traffic and animates the destination

Who is eligible?

  • Tourism enterprises (for-profit)
  • Tourism non-profit organizations
  • Tourism cooperatives
  • Municipal entities in Quebec
  • Recognized Indigenous communities, nations, organizations and Indigenous tourism enterprises

Who is not eligible

  • Crown corporations and ministries or agencies of the Quebec and Canadian governments
  • Applicants listed in the Register of enterprises ineligible for public contracts
  • Enterprises not compliant with the Office québécois de la langue française francization process

Eligible expenses

  • Administration, programming, promotion, marketing and communication costs related to the event
  • Site and facilities management fees and costs of products intended for resale
  • Travel expenses within public-sector rates, overhead, salaries and benefits of staff linked to the event
  • Audited in-kind sponsorships of goods and services, up to 50% of total eligible costs

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Capital expenditures for acquisition of equipment (depreciation) and immobilizations
  • Working capital, debt service, operating losses, capital losses and capital buyback
  • Costs for bringing assets up to standard, asset maintenance, regular maintenance and regulatory compliance
  • Recoverable portions of Quebec and federal sales taxes and non-audited in-kind donations or asset transfers
  • Financing charges, lobbyist fees, cost overruns, legal fees and acquisition of non-visitor-dedicated motorized transport

  • Alignment with EPRTNT 2025-2027 objectives and regional strategic priorities
  • Structuring impact, including attractiveness, reach, economic benefits, partnerships and season extension
  • Innovative character and quality of concept, products and services
  • Financial structure and feasibility, including realistic, balanced financing and promoter capacity
  • Tourism relevance, regional spillover potential and integration of sustainable and eco-responsible practices

How to apply

  • Step 1: Complete pre-admissibility form
    • Fill out the online pre-admissibility form on Tourisme Montérégie’s website under the Financial Assistance section.
    • Indicate your organization type, project category, basic project description and estimated costs.
  • Step 2: Receive application documents
    • If the project is deemed admissible, Tourisme Montérégie will send you all required application documents.
  • Step 3: Prepare full application
    • Complete the EPRTNT 2025-2027 financial assistance application form for the Montérégie region.
    • Gather all required supporting documents listed for the Festivals and Events category.
  • Step 4: Submit application
    • Send the completed application form and all required documents by email to eprtnt@monteregie.ca before the indicated deadline.

Additional information

  • A second call for projects is scheduled from January 9, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. to March 20, 2026, at 4:59 p.m.
  • If required documents are missing at the submission deadline, the application is deemed incomplete and not eligible.
  • Organizations with 25 or more employees for at least six months must provide OQLF proof of compliance with francization requirements.
  • Financial assistance of $100,000 or more to a for-profit organization with over 100 employees requires an employment equity program commitment.
