Overview

This program offers up to $130,000 in non-repayable financial support for tourism attraction, activity and equipment projects in Montérégie. It funds construction, expansion and improvement of tourism infrastructures, as well as consolidation, modernization and development of attractions, equipment and services that are innovative and sustainable.

Activities funded

  • Construction, expansion or improvement of tourism infrastructures, products and services that enhance the territorial offer.
  • Consolidation, implementation, expansion or modernization of attractions, equipment, activities or tourism services.
  • Development or renewal of tourism products and services that support four-season, distinctive and sustainable visitor experiences.

Documents Needed

  • Completed and signed application form submitted in Excel format.
  • Comprehensive business plan for the project, including required permits and authorizations.
  • Financial statements for the last two fiscal years, where applicable.
  • Three-year financial projections or revenue–expense forecasts related to the project, where applicable.
  • Board resolution authorizing the signatory and supporting documents, plus OQLF and other attestations if required.

Eligibility

  • Be a tourism enterprise, municipal entity, Indigenous community/nation or a grouping of these, legally constituted under Quebec or Canadian law.
  • Carry on business in Quebec and, for tourism accommodation, comply with applicable laws and hold a registration number.
  • Have respected previous funding commitments with program partners, if applicable.
  • For nature and adventure tourism enterprises, comply with or commit to Qualité-Sécurité Adventure Écotourisme Québec standards.
  • Submit a project that aligns with the program’s regional and sustainable tourism development objectives.

Who is eligible?

  • For-profit tourism enterprises.
  • Non-profit tourism organizations.
  • Tourism cooperatives.
  • Municipal entities and their related corporations or organizations.
  • Recognized Indigenous communities, nations and Indigenous tourism enterprises, and groupings of these clienteles.

Who is not eligible

  • Crown corporations and ministries or agencies of the governments of Quebec and Canada.
  • Applicants listed in the Register of enterprises ineligible for public contracts.
  • Enterprises not compliant with the francization process of the Office québécois de la langue française.

Eligible expenses

  • Construction, expansion, reconstruction, adaptation, conversion, improvement or replacement of tourism infrastructures and equipment, including development of new experiences.
  • Purchase and installation of specialized equipment, furniture, boats and rolling stock dedicated to enhancing the visitor experience.
  • Professional fees for design, engineering, technical staff, project management, studies, business plans and eco-responsible development planning.
  • Costs related to land and trail development, land acquisition, servitudes, rights-of-way, surveying, quality control, net taxes and project contingencies (up to 15%).
  • Costs to integrate sustainable practices and climate adaptation measures, and integration of artworks required under Quebec’s arts-in-architecture policy.

  • Tourism enterprises operating in the Montérégie region of Quebec.
  • Organizations legally constituted under Quebec or Canadian law and doing business in Quebec.

Selection criteria

  • Alignment with EPRTNT 25-27 objectives and Tourisme Montérégie’s strategic orientations.
  • Structuring impact, including attraction power, regional reach, economic benefits, partnerships and season extension.
  • Innovation, quality of concept, products and services, and eco-responsible, sustainable development approach.
  • Financial structure and feasibility, including realistic budgeting, balanced financing, promoter contribution, confirmed partners and implementation capacity.
  • Regional impact, including attraction of interregional clientele, enhanced visitor reception and proximity to official tourist routes.

How to apply

  • Step 1: Complete pre-admissibility form
    • Fill out the online pre-admissibility form on the Tourisme Montérégie website under the Financial Assistance section.
    • Indicate organization details, project category, summary description, estimated costs and available matching funds.
  • Step 2: Receive confirmation and application package
    • If the project is deemed admissible, receive all required documents and templates from the program coordinator.
  • Step 3: Prepare full application
    • Complete the EPRTNT 2025-2027 financial assistance application form for the Montérégie region.
    • Compile all required supporting documents listed in the program guidelines.
  • Step 4: Submit application
    • Send the completed application form and all required documents by email to eprtnt@monteregie.ca before the submission deadline.

Additional information

  • The financial support is provided under the 2025–2027 Regional Partnership and Digital Transformation in Tourism agreement (EPRTNT 25-27).
  • Projects must integrate development-durable and eco-responsible measures that generate positive social and economic impacts.
  • Organizations with 25 employees or more for 6 months must demonstrate compliance with the Quebec francization process.
  • Financial assistance of $100,000 or more to a for-profit organization with over 100 employees requires an employment equity program commitment.
