This program provides non-repayable funding of up to $100,000 to support the development, modernization and digital transformation of tourism attractions, activities and equipment in Mauricie. Activities funded
- Construction, expansion and improvement of tourism infrastructures, attractions and equipment to develop or renew tourism products and services.
- Consolidation, implementation, expansion or modernization of existing attractions, activities and tourism services to increase their appeal and capacity.
- Development and enhancement of sites, land and trails supporting the regional tourism offer and visitor experience.
Documents Needed
- Completed and signed application form in Excel format for the "Attractions, activities and equipment" category.
- Complete business plan for the project, including required authorizations, permits and certifications.
- Financial statements for the last two fiscal years of the organization (if not a start-up, municipal entity or Indigenous community).
- Three-year financial forecasts following project completion, or equivalent project income/expense document for municipal or Indigenous entities.
- Board resolution (or equivalent) authorizing the signatory, plus applicable attestations (e.g. OQLF, partners’ financial confirmations, proof of tourism adventure accreditation, Indigenous certification, if relevant).
Eligibility
- The applicant must be a legally constituted organization under Quebec or Canadian law and operate in Quebec.
- The project must be located in the Mauricie tourism region and target a significantly tourist clientele.
- The applicant must be a tourism enterprise or related eligible body (for‑profit, non‑profit, cooperative, municipal entity, Indigenous community or tourism organization, or a grouping of these).
- The project must align with the objectives of the EPRTNT 2025‑2027 and demonstrate financial viability through a complete business plan.
- The applicant must comply with applicable regulations, including tourism accommodation registration and, where relevant, adventure tourism accreditation and French language requirements.
Who is eligible?
- Tourism businesses operating attractions, activities, equipment or services.
- For‑profit tourism enterprises.
- Non‑profit tourism organizations and cooperatives.
- Municipal entities involved in tourism projects.
- Indigenous communities, nations and Indigenous tourism organizations, and groupings of these eligible clienteles.
Who is not eligible
- Crown corporations, as well as Quebec and Canadian government departments and agencies.
- Applicants listed in the Register of enterprises ineligible for public contracts.
- Enterprises that are not compliant with the French language francization process of the Office québécois de la langue française.
Eligible expenses
- Construction, reconstruction, expansion, adaptation, reconversion and improvement costs for tourism infrastructures and equipment, including development of new visitor experiences.
- Acquisition and installation of specialized equipment, furniture, boats and rolling stock directly enhancing the visitor experience, as well as land development, trails and required land/servitude purchases.
- Professional fees (design, engineering, technical staff, project management, reporting), and preparatory studies, business plans and sustainable development plans (including certain pre‑application costs).
- Costs related to integrating sustainable practices and climate adaptation measures, site surveying, on‑site quality control, eligible net taxes, contingencies (up to 15% of eligible project costs) and integration of artworks under the provincial arts and architecture policy.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Acquisition of a business, its infrastructures or transport equipment not dedicated to the visitor experience.
- Promotion and marketing costs, including website redesign, and administrative, storage or retail space equipment.
- Routine maintenance, operating, administration, working capital, debt service, operating losses, buybacks of capital and financing fees.
- Compliance, maintenance and upgrading costs to meet standards and regulations, as well as costs contracted before application (except eligible preparatory professional fees).
- Asset transfers, in‑kind or donated goods and services, legal fees, rental of land or buildings, and any cost already reimbursable via sales taxes.

Selection criteria
- Alignment of the project with EPRTNT 2025‑2027 objectives and regional tourism priorities.
- Structuring impact and regional reach, including attraction power, economic spin‑offs, job creation and season extension.
- Innovative character and quality of the concept, products and services offered.
- Sound financial structure and project feasibility, including robust financing plan, realistic forecasts, promoter expertise and implementation schedule.
- Contribution to Mauricie’s attractiveness and positioning as a distinctive, sustainable tourism destination, including integration of development‑sustainable practices.
How to apply
- Step 1: Review program guides

- Consult the specific "Attractions, activities and equipment" category modalities document.
- Step 2: Verify project eligibility
- Complete the self‑assessment form for project eligibility for the relevant category.
- Adjust the project if needed based on admissibility criteria.
- Step 3: Prepare application file
- Fill out the Excel application form for the "Attractions, activities and equipment" category.
- Compile all required supporting documents (business plan, financial statements, resolutions, attestations, etc.).
- Step 4: Submit application
- Email the completed application form and all required documents to Tourisme Mauricie at sbouchard@tourismemauricie.com, addressed to the funding advisor.
Processing and Agreement
- Projects are submitted according to calls for proposals with specified deadlines and are only analyzed if the file is complete at the start of the analysis period.
- Tourisme Mauricie first verifies project eligibility and may request clarifications from the promoter.
- Eligible projects are then analyzed for relevance and financial viability, and recommendations are prepared for the management committee.
- The management committee selects projects and issues recommendations, followed by a formal announcement letter to promoters.
- Approved projects must sign a subsidy agreement that sets the payment conditions and obligations before funds are disbursed.
Additional information
- Projects must be completed within 24 months following the subsidy announcement and all documents for final payment must be submitted within this period.
- Applications are received through specific calls for projects with set deadlines; incomplete files at the start of analysis are postponed to the next period.
- Selected projects are subject to a formal subsidy agreement specifying payment conditions and obligations of each party.
- Projects may be subject to public tendering rules, equality access programs and French language compliance requirements, depending on project value and organization size.
