Overview
This program provides up to $20,000 in non-repayable financial support to regionally significant festivals and events in Îles-de-la-Madeleine. Funding helps organize tourism-focused events that attract visitors and support sustainable, innovative regional tourism development.

Activities funded
- Organization and delivery of a festival or event held in Quebec that attracts a significant volume of visitors and animates the destination.
- Support for a specific aspect of a festival or event aimed at its development and growth.
- Regionally significant, one-off festivals or events capable of generating notable visitor traffic.
Documents Needed
- Completed and signed EPRTNT 25-27 Festivals and Events application form (Excel format).
- Programming or draft programming of the upcoming event.
- Most recent event report, if available.
- Most recent financial statements and revenue-expense statement for the latest event.
- Projected revenue-expense budget for the upcoming event and confirmations from financial partners, if available.
Eligibility
- Applicant must be legally constituted under Quebec or Canada law and conduct business in Quebec.
- Applicant must be a tourism-related enterprise, municipal entity, Indigenous community/nation or enterprise, or a grouping of these.
- Tourism accommodation operators must comply with applicable regulations and hold a valid registration number.
- Nature and adventure tourism enterprises must comply with, or commit to, the Aventure Écotourisme Québec Qualité-Sécurité program.
- Previous commitments toward funding partners must be respected if prior subsidies were received.
Who is eligible?
- Tourism businesses (for-profit organizations).
- Non-profit tourism organizations.
- Tourism cooperatives.
- Municipal entities.
- Indigenous communities, nations and Indigenous tourism enterprises.
Who is not eligible
- Quebec and Canadian government departments, agencies and Crown corporations.
- Applicants listed in the Register of enterprises ineligible for public contracts.
- Enterprises not compliant with the Office québécois de la langue française francization process when required.
Eligible expenses
- Administration costs related to the supported edition or specific aspect.
- Programming costs for the festival or event.
- Promotion, marketing and communication expenses.
- Site and facility management expenses.
- Costs of products intended for resale and eligible travel, overhead, salaries and benefits linked to the event.
- Audited in-kind sponsorships of goods and services, up to 50% of total eligible costs.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Activities not directly related to organizing and holding the event.
- Capital expenditures linked to acquiring equipment, including depreciation.
- Working capital, debt service, operating losses, capital losses and capital buybacks.
- Costs for bringing assets up to standard, asset maintenance, or regulatory compliance.
- Refundable taxes, non-audited in-kind contributions, asset transfers, routine maintenance, financing costs, lobbyist fees, cost overruns, legal fees and purchase of non-visitor-experience motorized transport equipment.

- Projects produced and held in Quebec.
- Projects located in Îles-de-la-Madeleine for enhanced funding parameters.

- Alignment with the EPRTNT 2025-2027 objectives.
- Structuring impact, including attraction power, regional benefits and collaboration with partners.
- Innovative character and quality of concept, products and services.
- Financial structure and relevance to tourism markets, diversification and marketing strategy.
- Feasibility, including schedule, business plan quality, promoter expertise and integration of sustainable development principles.
How to apply
- Step 1: Prepare Project Documentation
- Develop the event concept, programming and budget forecasts.
- Gather recent financial statements, latest event report and partner confirmations where applicable.
- Step 2: Complete Application Form
- Fill out the EPRTNT 25-27 Îles-de-la-Madeleine Festivals and Events financial assistance application form in Excel.
- Ensure all required sections and supporting details are completed and signed.
- Step 3: Submit Application
- Send the completed Excel form and all required documents by email to developpement@tourismeilesdelamadeleine.com.
Additional information
- Applications must align with the tourism development strategy and sustainable development principles of Îles-de-la-Madeleine.
- Projects must respect Quebec language requirements; certain employers must provide an OQLF attestation.
- Indigenous status certification may be required to determine applicable aid rates.
- Equal access programs may be required for larger for‑profit organizations receiving higher funding.
