- Within 3 months after the file is opened, submit the Preliminary Energy Simulation Declaration by completing tab 2 of the form and sending the preliminary energy simulation files.
- Complete the energy simulation using an approved simulation tool and have it completed or verified by an engineer who is a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec and works within a registered firm.
- After construction, send Énergir the supporting documents listed in the documentation guide, including the final energy simulation and completed tabs 3 and 4 of the form.
- After Énergir confirms the final amount, send an invoice to Énergir claiming the financial assistance and applicable taxes.
Processing and Agreement
- Énergir reviews the Declaration of Interest and confirms the opening of the file in writing.

- The final energy simulation is technically reviewed by an experienced modeler selected by Énergir, and the review report is sent to the client and to Énergir.
- After analyzing the file and the review report, Énergir informs the client in writing of the final amount of financial assistance and, if the file is satisfactory, issues payment.
- Énergir may carry out a random post-construction inspection; if major differences are found between the building constructed and the building simulated, the client must reimburse the financial assistance.
Additional information
- Énergir may modify or terminate the program at any time without notice, but any application accepted before the end of the program will be processed.
- The energy simulation is reviewed by an independent experienced modeler selected by Énergir, and Énergir assumes the cost of the review report.
