Overview
Provides non-repayable matching contributions of up to $100,000 to support later-stage food and agri-food tech businesses in southern Ontario. Funding supports adopting proven clean technologies and/or carrying out sustainability enhancement activities to modernize operations and reduce carbon footprint.

Eligibility
- Be a for-profit private sector enterprise or a not-for-profit corporation.
- Operate in the food and agri-food technology sectors.
- Be incorporated in Canada and located in southern Ontario.
- Generate at least $200,000 in annual revenues (unless a not-for-profit).
- Be able to provide a 60% match of project costs (up to $150,000).

How to apply

Check applicant eligibility
- Confirm you are a for-profit enterprise or not-for-profit corporation in the food and agri-food technology sectors
- Ensure you are incorporated in Canada and located in southern Ontario
- Verify you generate at least $200,000 in annual revenues (unless a not-for-profit)

Confirm project fit and budget
- Confirm your project will integrate proven clean technologies and/or implement sustainability enhancement activities
- Ensure funding request is between $40,000 and $100,000 in non-repayable matching contributions
- Confirm you can procure a 60% match of total project costs, up to $150,000

Engage a project partner
- Select an eligible Sustainability Project Partner that can provide a proven clean technology or consultation service
- Obtain a Statement of Work (SOW) from the Sustainability Project Partner

Gather tools and program guide
- Access the Application Toolkit and consult the SGAP Program Guide for full eligibility criteria
- Download the Application Workbook, Budget Workbook Templates, and the SGAP Intake Form

Prepare the application documents
- Complete the Application Workbook
- Complete the Budget Workbook Templates
- Reference the SGAP Program Guide while completing the application

Submit via the intake form
- Submit the completed documents using the SGAP Intake Form
- Apply during the intake period starting January 28, 2026
- Ensure the application is received by March 18, 2026, at 11:59 pm EDT

Follow submission method rules
- Do not submit by email, mail, in-person, or facsimile (fax), as these will not be accepted

Await results and next steps
- Wait for notification of awarded and declined applications in June 2026
- Note that only successful applications will move toward negotiating a Contribution Agreement

- Applicants are notified of awarded and declined applications (expected June 2026).
- Only successful applications proceed to negotiate a Contribution Agreement.
Additional information
- Applications are accepted until March 18, 2026 (11:59 pm EDT).
- Applicants are expected to work with an eligible Sustainability Project Partner that provides a Statement of Work (SOW).
- Program intake opens January 28, 2026; notifications are expected in June 2026.
