Overview

The Supporting the Canadian Red Cross' Urgent Relief Efforts Related to COVID-19, Floods and Wildfires program provides up to $415 million in funding to the Canadian Red Cross to deliver urgent relief and recovery services in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, floods, and wildfires. Eligible activities include public health and emergency management support, virtual relief services, as well as surge health and emergency management operations.

Financing terms and conditions

  • The total maximum contribution available under the program is $415,000,000 for urgent relief efforts related to COVID-19, floods, and wildfires.
  • A 12% administrative flat fee is eligible and can be applied against actual eligible expenditures for indirect costs.
  • The maximum level (stacking limit) of total government assistance for the same purpose and eligible expenses must not exceed 100% of eligible expenditures.
  • Minor capital acquisitions, program supplies, and materials are eligible only up to $10,000 per acquisition.

Eligibility

  • The only eligible beneficiary for this grant is the Canadian Red Cross.
