Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Agricultural businesses
  • Artisanal food processing businesses
  • Agricultural succession businesses
  • Aspiring farmers holding a NIM category recognized by the PSC for eligible services
  • Groups of eligible agricultural or artisanal food processing businesses

Who is not eligible

  • Government departments, budgetary bodies, Crown corporations, and municipal entities.
  • Financial cooperatives and banking institutions.
  • Applicants unable to meet French language requirements or listed as non-compliant with francization rules.
  • Applicants registered in RENA or under a ministerial or court order related to animal welfare and safety.
  • Applicants in default on obligations related to prior financial assistance from the ministry.

Eligible expenses

  • Fees for eligible advisory services billed to the client
  • Travel time billed under the service contract, where applicable
  • Eligible consultant travel costs related to distance, where applicable
  • Eligible lodging and meal costs related to reimbursable travel, where applicable

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Services related to recreational cannabis or products not approved by Health Canada.
  • Services linked to additional cannabis products such as food ingredients, processed foods, topical products, concentrates, tinctures, and capsules.
  • Subscription fees and administration fees.
  • Plans and specifications services, and agro-environmental fertilization or recycling plans, including soil sampling.
  • Costs not directly related to the project, cost overruns, and GST/QST reimbursements.

  • Compliance with professional standards, where applicable.
  • Cost suitability for the scope of activities.

How to apply

  • Contact your regional Agriconseils network.
  • Complete the company registration form for the Programme services-conseils.
  • Send the completed form to the Agriconseils network in your region.
  • Obtain a personalized list of advisers based on your needs.
  • Meet the adviser you choose and conclude a service contract.
  • Receive the funding confirmation from the Agriconseils network.

Processing and Agreement

  • The regional Agriconseils network analyzes the contract and applies any eligible bonus during review; the funding confirmation identifies the approved assistance.
  • After the funded services are delivered, the adviser submits the invoice to the regional network to claim the financial assistance.
  • Final payment can be processed on the basis of a signed final invoice or an accepted proof of payment.
  • A rapport d’intervention must be given to the client for funded services, kept in the client file, and provided to the network if requested for compliance validation.
  • Time sheets and related supporting records must be kept on file and may be requested during a conformité control or management review.
