Eligible activities include setting up, delivering, and monitoring projects involving multiple partners and communities, although the maximum funding amount is not specified.

Documents Needed

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a Canadian not-for-profit organization, association, professional institution, or a provincial or territorial government.
  • The project must enhance the vitality of official language minority communities.
  • The initiative should focus on improving community living spaces, benefit multiple communities (preferably in more than one province or territory), develop new areas of intervention, or encourage cooperation among several partners.

  • For-profit companies are not eligible.
  • Individuals and unregistered organizations cannot apply.

  • Costs to set up, deliver, and monitor projects that contribute to the long-term development of official language minority communities in priority sectors.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Expenses related to activities with an international dimension (international activities).
  • Costs incurred before Canadian Heritage receives your application (pre-application expenses).

  • Submit the complete application package by email to the appropriate address, depending on national or regional scope

  • Respond to any additional requests for information or clarification from program administrators, if necessary

Processing and Agreement

  • Canadian Heritage reviews your application to confirm the applicant, project, and project-related expenses are eligible (meeting eligibility criteria does not guarantee funding).
  • Your application is assessed based on the program’s evaluation criteria (clear objectives, measurable results; and the number and quality of applications received).
  • If you did not comply with conditions of a previously funded project, this may be considered and could lead to rejection.
  • Canadian Heritage will acknowledge receipt of your application within 2 weeks of receiving it.
  • If approved, Canadian Heritage determines whether support will be provided as a grant or a contribution; for contributions, a funding agreement sets the terms and final reporting requirements.
