Activities funded
There are eligible projects and activities for this grant:
- Develop and implement medium to long-term plans to address needs related to recovering, and/or building capacity, resilience, and sustainability.
- Provide supports to staff and volunteers to adapt to organizational changes related to recovery and building resilience
- Adapt or add-new program and service delivery to meet the changing needs of the community
- Expand previously adapted programs and services to meet the changing needs of the community
- Meet public health guidelines, safely deliver programs and services, and/or prepare for future disruptions through the purchase of necessary equipment and/or technological infrastructure
Eligibility
The eligibility criteria for this grant are:
- An applicant must have a primary purpose and reputation for delivering programs with community benefits in Ontario.
- The organization must demonstrate financial capacity, provide services in Ontario, and be able to generate additional resources.
- Eligible applicants include charitable organizations, not-for-profit corporations, Indigenous communities, and municipalities with specific populations.
Who is eligible?
Eligible applicants for the Resilient Communities Fund grant include charitable organizations or foundations registered with the Canada Revenue Agency, and organizations incorporated as not-for-profit corporations without share capital in a Canadian jurisdiction. Indigenous communities like First Nations, Chartered Community Councils operating under the Métis Nation of Ontario, and Inuit organizations are also eligible.

Eligible expenses
Eligible expenses for the Resilient Communities Fund grant include direct personnel costs, direct non-personnel costs (such as purchased services, supplies, and evaluation), and overhead and administration costs directly associated with the funded project. The grant also covers non-fixed equipment and technological infrastructure costs.

Selection criteria
The evaluation and selection criteria for the Resilient Communities Fund grant are as follows:
- Current organizational challenges: The organization must clearly articulate the challenges they are facing to build resilience.
- Organization supports diverse, underrepresented, and/or vulnerable populations: The organization needs to demonstrate that its purpose and programming positively impact populations facing various barriers.
- Strategy: The strategy outlined should be well thought out and explain how the organization plans to recover and build resilience based on the challenges and outcomes selected.
- Process: The process should be well thought out, identifying the necessary steps for recovery.
