Overview
Grants to cover up to 50% (at a maximum of $15,000) for a publishing company’s eligible expenses to engage in international business and book market development activities.
Eligibility criteria
The eligibility criteria for the Global Market Development Fund – Book grant include:
1. Ontario-based companies in the book industry.
2. Must have a significant portion of their business activities related to creating, producing, and selling literary works.
3. Companies must be eligible for OAP funding, with a minimum of two years of operating history.
4. Must have a business number from the Canada Revenue Agency.
5. Companies must demonstrate that the project will result in market development for Ontario published literary works.
6. Project activities must occur outside of Canada and benefit Ontario companies in the book sector.
7. Participants must comply with the program's terms and conditions.

How to apply
To apply for the Global Market Development Fund - Book grant, follow these steps:
1. Review the program guidelines thoroughly to ensure eligibility and understand the funding parameters.
2. Register your company's corporate information with the Ontario Creates Online Application Portal (OAP) if you haven't already done so.
3. Access the OAP at https://apply.ontariocreates.ca/, click on "Register" if needed, and then click on "Start new application" for the Global Market Development Fund - Book program.
4. Complete the application form by entering all required information. You can save your progress and return to edit or add information before submitting.
5. Submit your application through the OAP by the deadline of Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at 5:00 pm ET.
6. Attend an Information Session if desired for more insights and clarification on the program.

8. Await the evaluation process and notification of successful applicants who may receive up to $15,000 or 50% of total costs for approved activities.
