- Evaluation by the Project Selection Committee, with input from additional technical experts if needed.
How to apply
- Step 1: Introductory call
- Email projects@proteinsupercluster.ca after reviewing the project eligibility requirements.
- Receive the Expression of Interest template and instructions.
- Each consortium member must complete and sign the Declaration As To Authorization and Compliance.
- Step 2: Submit the Expression of Interest
- Complete the EOI as a single application for the project.
- Submit it for review by Protein Industries Canada staff.
- Step 3: Full Project Proposal
- If invited, prepare the Full Project Proposal using the provided Word and Excel templates.
- Submit the proposal by email to projects@proteinsupercluster.ca.
- Include both application parts and an initial financial assessment.
- Step 4: Review and decision
- Successful applicants are notified by email and invited to a proposal orientation meeting.
- The Project Selection Committee reviews the proposal and may approve, decline, or table it for more information.
- Step 5: Agreement and start of work
- If approved, Protein Industries Canada works with the consortium to sign a Master Project Agreement.
- Work can begin once the agreement is signed.
Processing and Agreement
- EOIs are reviewed by Protein Industries Canada staff first.
- Eligible EOIs are assessed for fit with the Investment Thesis, Global Innovation Cluster priorities, and other program criteria.
- Selected projects move to the Full Project Proposal stage and are reviewed by the Project Selection Committee.
- The committee may approve, decline, table the project, or request more information.
- Approved projects proceed to a Master Project Agreement before work can begin.
Additional information
- All projects must demonstrate meaningful participation from women, Indigenous Peoples, and/or other under-represented groups.
- Projects should avoid duplication of existing efforts in the sector.
- Protein Industries Canada staff can provide support and feedback during proposal development.
- Members of project consortia are required to comply with the Conflict of Interest Policy and Applicant Interaction Policy during the evaluation process.
