Documents Needed
- A presentation document using the required template: maximum 7 pages for strategic support or maximum 11 pages for project funding.
- A letter of commitment from the applicant’s management or board confirming budget availability and internal project responsibility.
- For a collective project, a letter of commitment from each stakeholder outlining its roles and responsibilities.
- A letter declaring the absence of a conflict of interest or appearance of conflict of interest with the MT Lab team, MT Lab board members, and the selected supplier.

- Quebec tourism businesses registered in Quebec and operating in one of the five tourism sectors: food services, leisure and entertainment, accommodation, passenger transportation, or travel services.
- Legally constituted tourism organizations serving tourists or excursionists.
- Innovative Quebec tourism businesses.
Who is not eligible
- Crown corporations
- Ministries
- Government organizations of Quebec
- Government organizations of Canada
- Businesses in a conflict of interest or appearance of conflict of interest directly linked to MT Lab employees or MT Lab board members
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Market or feasibility studies.
- Financial incentives given to visitors, and communication, marketing, or promotional costs.
- Internal salaries and internal management or administrative costs.
- Subscriptions lasting more than 12 months, and insurance or delivery fees.
- Costs exceeding the submitted project budget without prior MT Lab approval, expenses incurred before signing the agreement, and projects such as website creation or upgrades, CRM implementation, physical infrastructure construction or renovation, or network, server, or telecommunication infrastructure.

Selection criteria
- How well the project responds to identified priority themes, including productivity, labour shortages, digital transformation, environmental footprint, and responsible and sustainable tourism.
- The project’s potential to increase productivity for the applicant organization.
- The level of risk the project’s implementation represents for the organization.
- The novelty of the processes, products, or services the project introduces for the organization.
- The project’s potential sectoral or regional spinoffs, the applicant’s capacity to deliver it, and consideration of responsible and sustainable tourism principles.
How to apply
- Complete the Applicant Form.
- If applying to the strategic support stream, attach the required presentation document, a letter of commitment, and a declaration of no conflict of interest.
- If applying to the project funding stream, attach the required presentation document, a letter of commitment, and a declaration of no conflict of interest.
- Submit the application using the Applicant Form link.
Processing and Agreement
- MT Lab reviews submitted files to verify compliance with eligibility criteria.
- Non-compliant files are not presented to the selection jury.
- An independent multi-sector jury analyzes and selects the winning projects for both streams.
- Candidates are informed of the jury’s decision by email, and no personalized comments on file quality are provided.
- Selected applicants sign an agreement with MT Lab, and the financial assistance is paid according to that agreement.
Additional information
- The program is part of the Tourism Innovation Program managed by MT Lab with financial support from the Ministry of Tourism.
- An applicant may submit more than one project, but only one project per company or organization can be selected and funded.
