Eligible expenses
- Professional fees for hiring a professional such as a biologist, translator, or environmental engineer, including fees for legal analysis and advice
- Travel costs, including transportation, accommodation, meals and incidentals
- Other reasonable expenditures directly linked to delivering the proposed activities, such as hospitality, room rentals and stationery

Selection criteria
- An independent funding review committee reviews each application and recommends whether the funding request should be approved.
- Available funding is distributed among successful applicants based on the merit of their proposals.
- The review committee’s recommendation may include the amount and any objectives the recipient will have to meet.
Processing and Agreement
- An independent funding review committee composed of external experts reviews applications and recommends whether the funding request should be approved, including the amount and any objectives to be met.
- The PFP administrator notifies applicants within one business day of receipt of the application and initiates the review and approval process.
- The CNSC notifies applicants of the final decision within 25 business days of the closing date for the application process.
- Successful applicants receive a Contribution Agreement, and accepting it initiates the funding award and contribution agreement process.
- Funding payments are issued once recipients have met the objectives in their Contribution Agreement, submitted a Final Financial Report, and completed the recipient survey.
