  • Internal labour costs directly assigned to the project, up to 25% of admissible costs.

How to apply

  • Step 1: Prepare the application
    • Complete the Excel form.
    • Fill in the Declarations, Project, Budget-Balance, and Artists tabs.
    • Attach the partnership agreement, if applicable.
  • Step 2: Submit by email
    • Send the completed application electronically to inscription@musicaction.ca.
    • Name the file as Applicant – Project – PCN.
  • Step 3: Follow-up after submission
    • Provide additional information on albums or EPs if requested.
    • Attend a meeting if Musicaction requests one.
  • Step 4: Complete the project and final report
    • Submit the completion file by email to para@musicaction.ca within 3 months after project end.
    • Include the requested supporting material and, if needed, invoices and payment proofs for verification.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed by Musicaction against program criteria.
  • Applicants may be asked to attend a meeting to discuss the project and set measurable performance indicators.
  • If approved, the revised budget becomes part of the funding contract.
  • If the album is financed at production, the applicant must place the MUSICACTION logo and the CANADA wordmark side by side but distinctly on the cover; when space allows, the album credits must include This project was made possible in part thanks to the Government of Canada; for digital-only albums or tracks, the MUSICACTION logo and the CANADA wordmark must appear on the web visual.
  • Non-compliance with recognition obligations may lead to penalties or recovery of funding.

  • Projects must be completed within 12 months.
  • A final completion report is due within 3 months after project end.
  • Musicaction may request a meeting to define measurable performance indicators.
  • All rights and licensing tariffs must be respected.
