Who is eligible?
- Eligible Music Companies
- Prince Edward Island owned businesses with at least a 51% Prince Edward Island client base
- Registered Prince Edward Island businesses with CRA business numbers for at least one year
Who is not eligible
- A non-Prince Edward Island Developing Company/Entrepreneur may not be the Applicant for a Prince Edward Island Artist
Eligible expenses
- Online learning programs, tutorials, and sessions
- Subscription services for necessary software or web applications
- Website development and/or maintenance costs
- Photos, Branding, & Design Costs
- Various types of consulting fees and other costs may be included on a case-by-case basis, but must be approved in advance by Music PEI
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Any Artist-specific costs or costs incurred by or on behalf of a specific Artist
- Any costs already funded by public investments
- Overhead or day-to-day costs such as staff salaries, day-to-day office administration, equipment and supplies costs, rent, and occupancy costs
- Travel and registration costs for industry events
- Subscriptions to music streaming services such as Spotify, etc.

Selection criteria
- The jury’s evaluation of your project will be based on your Business Development Plan and how your project meets the goals of the Business Development program.
How to apply
- Ensure your Music PEI membership is active and in good standing at least one week before applying.
- Complete the online application webform.
- Attach the required Business Development Plan to the web form.
Processing and Agreement
- Review of applications takes four to six weeks from the date of Application.
- If successful, the applicant must enter into an Investment Agreement that sets out the terms of the investment.
- Once the Application is approved, changes with a budget impact of 25% or less of Eligible Costs may be made without Music PEI pre-approval.
- Music PEI may remove ineligible costs from the final Completion Budget, which may reduce the final payment.
