In 2008, Music PEI initiated various investment opportunities for members of PEI’s music community, supported by funding from the Provincial Government’s Department of Culture. The program aims to assist the growth of the music industry, nurture artists, and develop infrastructure within the province.

Four distinct categories cater to artists and industry professionals at various career stages:

- Export Ready & Exporting Artists: Aimed at artists ready to expand their reach internationally.
- Career Artists: Supporting established artists in advancing their careers to the next level.
- Music Industry Professionals: Providing assistance to individuals contributing to the music industry in diverse roles.
The investment program is committed to fostering long-term, self-sustaining careers within the music industry. The financial support provided has led to significant growth, with a notable 400% increase in internationally touring artists, and the doubling of recording studios in Prince Edward Island.
Application Process and Deadlines
The Music PEI Investment Program features two annual application deadlines on April 30th and October 31st. Following each deadline, a juried panel assesses the applications and announces the successful recipients. The program officer is available for consultation appointments to guide interested members through the application process for optimal understanding and success.
