Eligibility
Who is eligible?
Projects under this grant will be evaluated based on their alignment with the objectives of the Sustainable CAP, focusing on resilience, environmental sustainability, and profitability of the PEI livestock industry. Specific evaluation and selection criteria for projects under this grant are as follows:
- No specific point score allocated criteria are detailed in the provided context.
- Applications will be assessed on a first come-first serve basis and for merit and impact.
- The Prince Edward Island Livestock Strategy Program Review Committee determines the level of support and total contribution, based on merit.
- Projects demonstrating benefits and impacts to more than one Atlantic province may be eligible for regional funding.
- Projects with demonstrable links to increasing public trust may be eligible for additional project funding.
- Projects proposed by under-represented groups, including Indigenous Peoples, women, youth, and persons with disabilities, will have their needs considered during the assessment.
Who is not eligible

- Activities related to aquaponic food production, aquaculture, seaweed, fish and seafood production and processing, except for international marketing and traceability activities for fish and seafood.
- Businesses conducting activities which provide tax credits or rebates.
- Companies involved in the development and enforcement of regulations.

- Adoption of process improvements for operational efficiency and profitability in abattoirs.
- Activities to reduce GHG emissions in livestock processing.
- Waste management activities in abattoirs and poultry processing.
- Purchase of honeybee queens and colonies for expansion.
- Research and adoption of new beekeeping equipment, technologies, or process improvements.
- Purchase of queen-rearing equipment and other technologies for improved pest and disease management in beekeeping.
- Purchase of equipment for honey extraction and value-added processing.
