Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Property owners.
  • Eligible tenants with owner authorization.

Who is not eligible

  • Applicants who do not have the property owner’s authorization when required.
  • Projects that have already started or incurred expenses before application.

Eligible expenses

  • Eligible project costs for the approved development, rehabilitation, adaptive reuse, or retrofit work.

Eligible geographic areas

  • Town of Minto, Ontario.
  • Designated Community Improvement Project Area.

Selection criteria

  • Feasibility of the project.
  • Alignment with the Community Improvement Plan goals and objectives.
  • Support for one or more identified work activities.

How to apply

  • Step 1: Review the Community Improvement Plan
    • Confirm that the property and proposed work fit the program requirements.
    • Review eligibility criteria, submission requirements, and funding terms.
  • Step 2: Prepare the application package
    • Complete and sign the application form.
    • Gather supporting documents, photos, drawings, and contractor estimates.
    • Provide the project description and any required statements or details.
  • Step 3: Submit the application
    • Send the complete application package by email to the Town contact listed on the form.
    • Include all required supporting documents with the submission.
  • Step 4: Follow the Town review process
    • Respond to any additional information requests from the Town or CIP Implementation Committee.
    • Wait for Council consideration and decision.
  • Step 5: Complete the agreement and project requirements
    • If approved, execute the required agreement.
    • Proceed with the project in accordance with the approved terms.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed by the Town and submitted for Council approval.
  • The Town may refuse applications if project feasibility is limited.
  • Approval requires execution of an agreement.
  • The Town may monitor and inspect the project after approval.
  • Funding is disbursed only after conditions are met and the project is completed as approved.

Additional information

  • Applicants may be eligible for more than one program in a single application.
  • The Town may require a pre-consultation meeting and additional supporting requirements.
  • Grant approval is at the discretion of Town Council.
  • Supporting material filed with the application becomes part of the public record.
