Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Provinces and territories.
  • Provincial, territorial, municipal and regional governments.
  • Indigenous organizations and Indigenous ultimate recipients in provinces and territories.
  • Municipalities and not-for-profit organizations in the provinces and territories.
  • For-profit private sector ultimate recipients.

Eligible expenses

  • Eligible expenditures incurred after December 1, 2020 for ventilation improvement projects approved by March 31, 2022.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Projects in schools are not eligible to use the new $70 million ventilation funding.

How to apply

  • Complete and submit the Climate Lens in its entirety at the time of application, unless otherwise indicated by Infrastructure Canada.
  • Submit projects via the Infrastructure Recipient Information System (IRIS) digital portal, or an equivalent portal, unless otherwise stated in program guidelines.
  • If you cannot provide an accurate GHG emissions reduction estimate at application time, submit a rationale for the inability to do so.

Processing and Agreement

  • Infrastructure Canada will review each Climate Lens assessment and may follow up to confirm the information submitted or request further detail.
  • If the submitted Climate Lens is incomplete or inconsistent with the Climate Lens General Guidance, the applicant will be asked to rectify the deficiencies or provide further information.
  • Any changes to the project scope or timeline after submission must be reported as part of regular project progress reporting requirements.
  • If Infrastructure Canada requires a revised Climate Lens, it will advise the applicant.

  • The COVID-19 Resilience Stream application process is closed.
  • The stream used an accelerated approvals process that allowed provinces and territories to submit multiple projects at a time with a single simplified application.
