  • Construction and expansion of dugouts in conjunction with a community tank loading facility to increase storage capacity and reduce tank loading times.
  • Connections to non-potable rural water utilities (multi-user pipeline) for agricultural use, provided other non-potable water resources have proven unsuccessful.
  • Installation of infrastructure necessary for the operation of approved community water development projects, including power installation and building and access construction.

  • Well drilling, boring, or construction.
  • Screening and casing for wells.
  • Gravel for large diameter wells.
  • Construction/excavation of new dugouts, including installation of a wet well.
  • Trenching or directional boring and pipe installation from well to pressure system and water distribution or tank loading site.
  • Pumps, pipeline, and miscellaneous plumbing materials including pump (electric, solar, wind), pump controller, pipe, floating intake (dugouts), pressure system, and pitless adapter, fittings and connectors.
  • Permanently installed water storage tanks (minimum 1,000 US gallons/3,700 litres), capped at a rebate of $5,000 per eligible project.
  • Permanent fencing to exclude livestock from a new water source, up to a maximum rebate of $750 per eligible project.
  • Watering appliances like watering bowls and pads, nose pumps, hydrants, or water troughs (minimum capacity of 100 gallons), with a maximum rebate of $2,500 per eligible applicant over the program.
  • Power infrastructure and hook-up, up to $20,000 over the program term, with no maximum for community water development projects.
  • Solar/wind/composite livestock watering systems including water storage and/or distribution system for livestock.
  • Water monitoring equipment when part of a power infrastructure purchase.
  • In-kind labour, funded at $22/hour to a maximum rebate of $250 per project.
  • In-kind machinery/equipment based on Farm Machinery Custom Rate and Rental Guide for the machinery class used.
  • For connections to non-potable rural water utilities: a maximum program payment of $15,000 for multi-user pipeline subscription/connection fees.
  • For community water development projects only: power installation and hook-up; buildings and infrastructure associated with the well, pump house and tank loading facility; access including road construction.

  • Step 6: Complete Project Construction
    • Ensure the project is fully constructed and operational for agricultural use within the stipulated timeline.
  • Step 7: Submit Claim for Funding
    • Submit claims for funding reimbursement once the project is complete.
    • Provide proof of paid invoices and any other requested documentation.
    • Ensure claims are submitted by the earlier of 18 months from project approval or March 31, 2028.
