Overview
The Film — Promotional Travel Assistance program provides up to 50% of eligible travel costs, to a maximum of $2,000 per producer or production company. It supports New Brunswick-based producers to attend film, television and new media industry events, festivals or professional development workshops that offer significant training, co‑production opportunities or industry recognition.
Activities funded
- Attending film industry markets and events that offer major training opportunities or potential for co-production agreements.
- Participating in television industry festivals or conferences to explore partnerships and showcase New Brunswick-based productions.
- Taking part in new media industry events to develop business relationships and co-production opportunities.
- Travelling to festivals where the applicant’s film, television or new media work has been officially selected for screening.
- Attending professional industry events where the applicant’s work has received recognition from the sector.

Eligibility
- The applicant must be a New Brunswick-based producer.
- The proposed activity must involve attending a film, television or new media industry event, festival or professional development workshop.
- The activity must offer significant training opportunities and/or potential for co-production agreements, or the applicant’s work must have been selected for screening or received industry recognition.
- The activity must contribute to the growth and promotion of the New Brunswick film, television and new media industry and/or promote the benefits of shooting in New Brunswick to national or international markets.

- Independent film producers based in New Brunswick
- Independent television or new media producers based in New Brunswick

How to apply

Contact Program Officer
Reach out to the Department program officer to discuss potential funding availability, as funds are allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Prepare Documentation
- Compile a detailed resume of the applicant(s).
- Gather information about the event or festival, including special invitations or registrations.
- Prepare a detailed budget outlining expenses and confirmed or anticipated funding sources. Allowable expenses include registration, airfare, accommodation, and per diem.
- Create a travel schedule for the event.

Submit Application
- Ensure all documents are complete and review the eligibility and criteria on the Arts Culture NB Portal.
- Submit the application with all supporting documentation via email to culture@gnb.ca, or mail to the Department of Tourism, Heritage, and Culture.

Post-Event Reporting
- Collect receipts and/or proof of incurred expenses following the event.
- Submit a final report and financial documentation within 60 days of event completion or by the end of the fiscal year.

Acknowledge Support
- Acknowledge support from Arts Culture NB in promotional materials for your project.
- Tag Arts Culture NB on social media using hashtag #ArtsCultureNB.
Additional information
- Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the program budget is fully expended.
- Applicants are advised to submit their request for travel assistance at least four weeks before the event.
- Recipients must submit a final report within 60 days of project completion or by the end of the fiscal year, whichever comes first.
- Grant recipients must publicly acknowledge the financial support of Arts Culture NB, including use of the official logos and are encouraged to use the hashtag #ArtsCultureNB on social media.
