  • The business must be active and either a Canadian resident sole proprietorship or incorporated under the laws of Canada or a province/territory.
  • The business must be a for-profit entity with between 1 to 499 full-time equivalent employees.
  • The business must have annual revenues of at least $500,000 but not more than $100,000,000 in one of the previous three tax years.
  • The business must be privately owned and be a Canadian-controlled Private Corporation (CCPC) if incorporated.
  • The business must respect human rights codes, labour, environmental, and anti-corruption standards, engaging exclusively in legal activities.
  • The business must not have shares publicly traded or be a majority or wholly owned subsidiary/branch of a multinational corporation.
