Eligibility
Who is eligible?
Eligible recipients for the Agriculture Awareness Sub-Program include Mi’kmaq First Nations and other Indigenous groups, agriculture producers, agriculture industry organizations, associations, agri-businesses, agri-processors, and non-profit organizations with official registration numbers. Projects should focus on increasing awareness and understanding of agriculture, involving educational activities that are inclusive of underrepresented groups such as newcomers, women, and individuals with disabilities among others.

This grant has specific exclusions for certain activities and operations. The restrictions focus on excluding projects that do not align with the main objectives of promoting agriculture awareness and public trust.

- Normal and on-going operating and maintenance activities.
- Activities related to aquaponic food production, aquaculture, seaweed, fish, and seafood production and processing (except international marketing and traceability activities for fish and seafood).

- Development and enforcement of regulations.
